HyperLaw: legal self-help for people representing themselves
HyperLaw is an app for people handling their own court case without a lawyer (called pro se or self-represented litigants). It helps you keep your case organized, know what comes next, draft the documents you need, prepare for hearings, and present your evidence clearly. It works on the web at hyperlaw.site and as an iPhone app.
HyperLaw gives legal information and drafting help. It is not a law firm, not a lawyer, and does not give legal advice.
Open HyperLawWho it is for
Adults (18+) in the United States handling their own legal matter: civil rights cases against police or government, family court and custody matters, and disputes with employers, landlords, and agencies.
What HyperLaw does
- Case chat. Describe your situation in plain language. HyperLaw replies with one clear next step and the rule or date behind it, and it never invents a deadline.
- Deadlines and reminders. Track the dates that matter and get reminders in the app, by email, and by phone notification in the iPhone app.
- Document drafting. Complaints, answers, motions, oppositions, discovery requests, declarations, demand letters, and fee-waiver applications, written from the facts you provide. Missing details are marked so nothing is made up, and you review everything before use.
- Case index. Rights and kinds of relief that may fit your facts, written as possibilities to look into.
- Exhibit Studio. Turn your own video and documents into clear, numbered exhibit screens with an order of events and a script to read aloud.
- Hearing Script. Prepare what to say at a specific hearing, with a reading mode made for the courtroom.
- Opposition Translator. See the other side's filing broken into plain-language arguments, with the law they cited explained and a draft answer to each.
- Battle Document. Keep your claims, arguments, evidence, and what the other side may say back in one place.
- Contradiction checks. Scan your case for statements that do not line up.
- Witness examination and voir dire. Prepare questions ahead of time.
- Family Court co-parent chat. A calm, permanent record between two parents with agreed chat rules, seen times on requests, confirmed pickups and drop-offs, and "I'm aware" confirmations for important dates.
Frequently asked questions
What is HyperLaw?
HyperLaw is a legal self-help app for people representing themselves in court (pro se litigants). It helps you organize a case, track deadlines, draft court documents, prepare for hearings, and turn your own video and documents into clear exhibits. It is available on the web at hyperlaw.site and as an iPhone app.
Is HyperLaw a law firm or does it give legal advice?
No. HyperLaw is not a law firm, is not a lawyer, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. It provides legal information and drafting help. Its output can contain mistakes, so you should check every date, rule, and filing against your court's own rules and speak with a licensed attorney when you can.
Who is HyperLaw for?
People handling their own legal matter without a lawyer, especially civil rights cases against police and government, family court and custody matters, and disputes with employers, landlords, and agencies. You must be 18 or older.
What can HyperLaw do?
Case chat that gives one clear next step tied to a rule or date; deadline tracking with reminders; drafting of complaints, answers, motions, oppositions, discovery requests, declarations, demand letters, and fee-waiver applications; a case index of rights and relief that may apply; Exhibit Studio for building exhibits from your own video; Hearing Script; Opposition Translator; Battle Document; contradiction checks; witness examination and voir dire preparation; and a Family Court co-parent chat.
What is Exhibit Studio?
Exhibit Studio turns your own video and documents into clear, numbered exhibit screens with an order of events and a script you can read aloud in court. Video you open in it is processed on your own device.
How does the Family Court co-parent chat work?
Two parents share one chat that becomes a permanent record. Both agree to the chat rules, such as calm language and quiet hours. Requests show when they were seen and whether they were answered, pickups and drop-offs are confirmed by both parents, and an "I'm aware" confirmation tracks important dates with reminders. An optional read-only witness can be added only if both parents approve.
Will HyperLaw remind me about deadlines?
Yes. Add the dates that matter and HyperLaw sends reminders in the app, by email, and by phone notification in the iPhone app. It states when a court clerk's office closes when that has been confirmed. Always confirm deadlines with your court, because court rules differ and change.
What does HyperLaw cost?
It is free to start. AI features use pay-as-you-go credits, and optional monthly memberships are available on the web. You see what an AI action will cost before it runs. The iPhone app offers in-app credit top-ups.
Is my information private?
Your cases belong to you. You can delete a case or your whole account inside the app. HyperLaw does not sell your information and does not use advertising trackers. AI features run only after you agree to the AI consent screen. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which courts and states does HyperLaw cover?
HyperLaw is built for United States courts, and the iPhone app is available in the United States. Court rules and local practice vary, so HyperLaw tells you when it has no rule on file and asks you to confirm with the clerk.
Who makes HyperLaw?
HyperLaw is made by an independent creator who built it after facing the legal system without a lawyer.
